If you’re a resident of Sarasota County or the broader region, participating in Institute for the Ages activities is your chance to influence innovation for healthy aging – and to affect real change in your community and others. Companies, researchers, and aging service providers need to hear your voices and perspectives. You are the nation’s biggest asset when it comes to changing demographics.

Support the Institute. Attend events. Make your voice heard through projects. Inspire change. Here’s how:

Talk about the facts – Learn about our community and its unique demographics. Find out what’s in store for us, the nation, and the world over the next 50 years. The Facts and News and Views sections of this website should help. Then talk with your friends, neighbors, coworkers … everyone. Let them know that we are the place in the United States that tries out the latest products, experiments with innovative policy solutions, and helps to change the conversation about aging. The Institute is an economic development generator – tell people about us. Projections show that Institute activities in the first six years will generate nearly 800 new high-wage jobs in the County.

Participate in the research – See the project descriptions in the Partner section. These are specific ways to connect to the work of the Institute. Check back here often for ways to make your voice heard and, in fact, influence what projects Institute for the Ages takes on.

Identify others who might like this idea – The pool of participants who engage with the Institute needs to be large and diverse. We know Sarasota County residents to be well-connected around the world. Encourage others to connect.
